Why am I receiving an SMS from my bank saying my credit card has been authorised and charged even before my service has been completed?

Card Validation Fee

The fee is a refundable card validation fee by the bank. The fee may vary for different banks, but is generally RM 1-5 (Malaysia) and SGD 0 (Singapore). 

This means that the card is valid for use and charged by the bank to test the card. The refund timeframe of this fee depends on your bank. 

Payment 

You will be charged the whole amount 24 hours before your scheduled service. If the job is not completed after all, the full amount will be released back to your card. The refund timeframe varies from bank to bank.
